Edwin Tronrud's Slides

In 1958 Edwin Tronrud bought a twin reflex camera from Sears. He used it to take slides of several trips "out west", many people that he knew, and some of the events that he witnessed. In 1966 he bought a new camera, a Kodak Instamatic. This web site contains scans of the slides he took in this eight year period.

Over the years the state of these slides have deteriorated, the colors have been distorted and mold has grown on some spots. By scanning these slides into a computer I can correct the color problems somewhat. While I have improved their apperance quite a bit I cannot fully restore them to the brilliant colors they once had. Several slides present particular challanges, you will certainly notice them when you see them.

One of the advantages of using the web is that the slides can be presented in several different orders. This flexibility is useful here because the slides have been mixed up over the years so there is no "right" way to arrange them.
